I checked my scores to find that I received the low score of 3 on AP English Language. I'm one of the top students in my English class, and I write quite well- well enough to warrant a low 4 if not a 5. Therefore, I really want to get my test rescored.

With that being said, has anything ever come out of rescoring a 3? I know 1's and 2's should be rescored, but I'm not sure about a 3.

Exact same case Im in. I chose to rescore it and request a FR packet because sometimes they lose them and dont do anything until you request it

Same situation here too…I just got my AP results and received a 3 on AP HG. I was considering rescoring it. The fact is that I was not confident for the MC part but quite confident about the frqs. I checked a score calculator and even if I got a 0/74 on the MC but full on frq I would get a 4. Do u think the score was correct and the curve this year might have been really harsh or maybe they did not include my MC or frq? The money is not a big problem but I would rather not waste it unnecessarily. Thank you

If you scored a 3 on lang, it is very likely that it was the score you earned. To get a 3, you would need more than a 100% on the multiple choice. (Technically you’d need a 100% MC, and essay scores of 5, 0, 0. Although these scores are based off of the 2007 exam, they don’t change too much on a year to year basis.) Therefore the only real possibilities are that you either misbubbled or that the scantron read it wrong. If you misbubbled then its technically your fault.

If your school is just lousy at English or if your teacher grades too nicely (it’s hard to tell) it is quite possible that the 3 is correct. (Take it from me. In my AP world class, the 3rd best student got a 3.)

Bottom line: if you erased a lot on the scantron, and if people worse than you got 4s and 5s, pay the 25 and rescore. If not, then a rescore probably wont do you any good.
