Hey guys, John here.
Basically I'm wondering whether or not I should rescore my AP computer science multiple choice. I received a 4, but this was probably the test that I worked the most for. When I walked out I was pretty confident that I recieved a high score, the multiple choice felt easy, and the frqs were also easy. Should I rescore it and risk having my 4 drop down to a lower score?

idk what you are talking about, the mc were quite difficult.

rescoring accomplishes nothing, it’s not like a human is handgrading anything. the chance of the machine making a mistake is so tiny, and a 4 is already a good score.

bump

No need to bump after 14 minutes.

If you want to waste the 30 bucks, go for it; it is unlikely your score will change and a 4 is still a good score.

If you really want to, its up to you. If you received a 1 or 2 and were very shocked by that score, I would recommend doing a rescore. But with a 4, it’s very likely you could have made a few errors (whether silly or due to challenging questions) that prevented you from getting a 5. 4 is still good, and will not hurt admissions in any way. Additionally, some schools you are considering applying to may offer credit for a 4.

You did.

This was the one I studied probably the hardest for, though, and on the other APs that I pretty much procrastinated on, I received 5’s. I guess it might not have been my day.

@foolish the rescoring is actually done by hand

but the original scoring wasn’t. these machines very very very seldom make mistakes.

I’m a bit sick of seeing these posts by students so shocked that they didn’t earn a 5 on their AP exams that they are willing to blame anything but themselves. Just because the multiple choice “felt easy” doesn’t mean you did well on it. If you have money to blow, then go for it, but I’m certain that your exam grade will not rise as a result of a manual rescoring.

I propose the OP does it with the promise to report the results here. Deal?

^that’s some cc dedication…16000 posts
