Will AP credit count toward the 30 hrs required to transfer into UT Austin?

Currently I am a couple hours short of the 30 hrs required and was wondering if the AP scores I applied would count toward the 30 credit hours.

Would that be a no then? Not entirely sure what this sentence means: “Students with transfer credit originally awarded on the basis of a national test (AP, CLEP, IB, SAT Subject/SAT II, etc.) will not be granted credit-by-exam at UT Austin based on the same examination.”

Credit-by-exam only counts toward the 30 semester hours required for external transfer admission if it is awarded by another institution and transferred to UT with your classroom credit. In order for it to be recognized it needs to be properly transcripted by the awarding institution. You need to ask your current institution if the credit-by-exam will be posted to your transcript like classroom credit, with regular catalog course number. If so, then it will count toward transfer admission at UT.
