I got a 2 on World history last year...took 2 more this year and having mixed feelings about em...

No. You can control which scores they see.

actually you cant... you either send them all or none at all. From what I've heard from college counselors you only have those two choices.

by the time you send them the score report (the one from CB), you're already in the college.

no way in hell they'll rescind you for a bad AP test.

I mean you control what time you send them like ^

AFAIK, colleges do not look at AP scores unless you are in a home-school situation where they want an "objective" measurement in lieu of grades. When you do show them your scores (for placement and credit for courses), you're already matriculated.

what if you take them as junior?

that's not what i've heard.
someone told me that his sister chose to send only her AP english comp (she got a 5)...

i'm confused

Where do you plan to apply etranman1?

i am in the same situation...do you just self-report? but do colleges ask for the official transcript as proof of your self-reported marks during the admission process?

how bad would getting five 5's fresh/soph years and then getting like 4's and 3's and 2's junior year look?? especially to like top-rated colleges? enough to earn me outright rejection?

ashdraniasura: enough to make me scratch my head... You're getting older, why aren't you getting smarter? Did you become over-confident in you abilities and take tests you were not prepared for? 5 fives, especially early on, is impressive. What happened?

AP scores are self-reported on college applications. You don't send the official report until you've enrolled somewhere.

You can hide scores, but it costs money.

Not that it matters... Admissions won't be rescinded for bad scores.

I believe you have the option to self report them on most college apps. If you get bad scores, it's probably best to leave that section blank...

Will colleges care if you self study and get a bad ap score?

For example, would top colleges dislike it if you're in an honors class, take the AP test, and get a 3?

I wouldn't worry about it. It's still better to take the test than to not take it at all.

AP scores can have 0 bearing on admissions if you dont want them too.

Alex7592: They would not like it if you took the honors class instead of the AP if it's offered at your school...

Well I'm in IB so I was forced to take Pre-IB US History because of the IB route.
(and I decided to take the AP test)

and I was also in the AP Calc BC and AP Bio classes...

oh..well when i failed the World History test, i didn't fill out the college section...This year, however, i did and i took the Calculus AB and U.S. history...they'll see all the scores no mater what i guess
