Pick and Choose?

is it possible to only send the scores you want to send?
I have pretty good scores, except for the blunt "2" on US History.

ya i need to know as well
and not to steal anhtimmy's thread, but does it look bad when you pick and choose (if its possible that is)? or would it be better to send all?

When reporting your AP scores on the Common Application, you can choose which scores you send (as it is self-reported).

To the best of my knowledge, there is no documented evidence that it looks bad to pick and choose, although many here have speculated that admission officers would wonder what is going on with a student who has taken an AP course and didn't list the AP score.

even when you self report, wouldn't the college contact CB to make sure that you aren't lying in your application?

ex: a person saying he/she got 4/5/5/5 on her AP's but has a really bad grade for the class

Lying about something as trivial and conspicuous as AP scores, to me, seems like a very stupid move. I wouldn't think that CollegeBoard would be allowed to give out scores to anybody without the score-holder's permission, but they can just as easily call the school up for the scores. And either way, unless you don't plan on sending in your AP scores, they're going to see all your scores anyway. If they cared enough to keep an eye on your scores, you'd be screwed. And who are colleges to assume that you just didn't have a bad day (high class average, low test grade), considering all your other score correlate well. Or that your teacher was really bad and you took it into your own hands to self-study (low class average, high test grade).

The bottom line is, don't lie about AP scores. They say that it's not all that important, and I don't see how it can be.

im just paranoid about my 2.
beside the other grades it just sticks out like a sore thumb

I think if your 2 really "sticks out like a sore thumb," then it might be worth giving all your scores - the college will look at all your passing scores and assume that a) your APUS teacher prepped you poorly; b) US history is simply not your strongest subject; or c) you just had a bad day. A 2 amongst several 3's, and especially 4's and 5's, I believe says something about that subject or teacher in particular; they will certainly not assume you are a "slacker" who doesn't take AP tests seriously. This is just my opinion.
