Will being sick affect my chances??

My soph year I was having some medical problems throughout the entire year, and these problems resulted in my missing 38 days of school, having 11 tardies (not late like 5 min late, late like 3 hrs late-sometimes for appts), and getting dismissed early about 6 times. I can just give you my grade breakdown because these problems REALLY affected my grades (ps, for levelling, H1 is higher than H).
Spanish III H - 98
Algebra 2 & Trig H1 - 90
Chemistry H1 - 84
Geometry H - 84
English II H1 - 89
My school weighted for class rank ONLY, so my weighted GPA for this year is still 4.0+, but my regular GPA SUCKS. After I got over these medical issues around April of last year, I really worked my ass off. I took a Precalc class over the summer, and I am the only junior taking 3 AP courses this year. Heres my course load/current grades for this year:
AP Physics - 90
AP Calc - 88
AP US History - 87
English 3 H1 - 96
Spanish IV H1 - 96
My APs are kind of low because they are SOOO hard, so I was just wondering if I still have a chance at schools like JHU and Tufts even though my GPA is low (I think its a 3.6 unweighted right now)?

You can always explain the circumstances. By the way, your grades are great. Don't tell yourself they aren't when they are. A 3.6 GPA is not unreasonable for those two schools. Maybe on the low side but not out of it at all. If you have good test scores, essays, recs, and activities, there's always a good shot. Not to mention your schedule is very AP heavy...

Alright thanks. Anyone else?????????????????????????

You have to write and tell them you were sick. Give them a copy of a doctor's note or something.

Talk with your guidance counselor. Your GC should definitely make note of this in the Counselor's report, and can probably boost you more than you can yourself.

Or write an essay about it.

Alright thanks, anyone else? Also, what are my chances for these schools with the given stats?
