I applied to these all RD
What are my chances for Emory, Cornell CALS, Carnegie Mellon School of Sciences, Duke Trinity(already submitted), and NYU Stern?</p>
<p>UW GPA 3.42 (low, I know)
W GPA 4.12
SAT- 2240 (680CR 760M 800W)
SAT IIs- 770 Math2 760 Chem
APs- took 6 (1 soph year and 5 junior year); all 4s or 5s (I've taken as many Pre-APs/APs as I can)
top 15% of my class, approx 185 students
top 20 High School in the nation</p>
<p>ECs
1. Member of a Biomedical Debate team in HOSA, competed in 9,10,11, and now in 12th Made it to the regional level of competition all 3 years, and state level in 10th. Vice President of my chapter.
2. Member of a local Leadership Council
3. Competed in the Economics Challenge and made it to that State level. Vice President of the Business Club at school.
4. Intern at a research lab this past summer
5. Volunteered at a children's hospital for the past 2 yrs
6. Worked at an engineering company in summer 2012
7. Have been playing piano for the past 8 yrs
8. Played chess competitively
9. Representative of Student Council at school
10. NHS Member</p>
<p>Probably a good chance for Emory and Cornell. CMU seems to be difficult for anyone, even with good credentials, same with Duke for that matter. As far as NYU Stern, decent chance based purely on your numbers. Your ECs are good for that as well, however as good as your business ECs are they usually like to see a lot of them. </p>
<p>To sum it up:
Good chance: Emory, Cornell
Decent Chance: NYU Stern, CMU
Reach: Duke</p>
<p>The only thing holding you back is your GPA. I’d say you have a fair shot at all of them but Duke may be a reach. Given your high school’s rank, your class rank is pretty good. Your EC’s are the best I’ve seen. Wishing you luck!</p>
<p>It looks like you have a pretty good shot at Emory, NYU, and Carnegie Mellon. Cornell (mainly because they don’t consider SAT writing scores) and Duke might be a little more reaches, but not out of the question by any means!</p>
