<p>Hey Guys! Thank you for taking the time to answer this thread. I REALLY appreciate it!</p>

<p>A few of my stats:</p>

<p>White Male
RI Resident</p>

<p>3.95/4.00 unweighted GPA
ACT (single test):
35 Composite
35 English
36 Reading
33 Math
34 Science
31 English/Writing</p>

<p>SAT (superscore):
2140 Composite
770 Math
710 Writing
660 Reading</p>

<p>SAT II's:
Math 2: 750
Physics: 740</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
Varsity Basketball for 4 years and now team captain
Student Government (President for two years, VP for one)
Choir (4 years)
Drama (4 years)
Guitar (3 years)</p>

<p>APs:
N/A: my school does not offer any (I had to mark this on my apps), but is a really difficult private school.</p>

<p>Recs:
Teachers said they were excellent.</p>

<p>Essay:
Apparently excellent.</p>

<p>Awards:
National Merit Semi-Finalist
Various In-school Awards (Honors, Highest GPA in class, Highest High School Math/Science GPA x2)
National Greek and Latin Exam Awards x2</p>

<p>So my three reach schools are MIT, Johns Hopkins, and Harvey Mudd. Also interested in GaTech and Case Western. I know acceptance to these schools is highly unlikely, and I would love to go any one of them, but I'm also trying to be realistic with this. Thank you for any input, positive or negative! BTW, I'm going to be studying Biomedical Engineering.</p>

MIT: low reach to reach
GT: accepted
Mudd: match to high match</p>

<p>GT and Case Western: Very likely
MIT: Reach, but I think they might like the National Greek/Latin Exam awards
JHU: Reach (I heard biomedical engineering is difficult to get into there)
Mudd: Not sure, haven’t heard much of their admissions </p>

<p>You have enough extracurriculars and your GPA/SAT scores are good. So…
MIT- Reach (maybe waitlisted because of its selectivity - your math section…)
Harvey Mudd - Low Reach (acceptance rate is 19%, so not as competitive as MIT)
Georgia Tech - Safety to Low Match (your SAT scores are fine enough)
Case Western - Safety to Low Match (like GaTech, your SAT scores are fine)
John Hopkins - High Match to Low Reach (although your SAT scores are just fine and your GPA and extracurriculars are good, its low acceptance rate is a huge obstacle)</p>

MIT and Harvey Mudd and reaches; your essays will matter a lot for mudd especially.
JHU is a high match</p>

<p>You’re good for GT for sure. Don’t know enough about the other schools to give you accurate chances.</p>

<p>I go to Mudd right now and your stats look pretty close to mine. However, I had a lot more extracurriculars(I went to the robotics world championship) and the IB program. One thing that could also hinder you are your ACT scores. I also had a 35, but my 36 were Math and Science. Just be sure to express your love for science and engineering in your Mudd-specific essays and you’ll be golden.</p>
