For Rice, the deadline for the SAT score report is January 31st and the January SAT is on the 24th. The application deadline is January 1st. The website doesnt specify, but do you think I can send in a Jan 24th score (SAT I OR II)? What's the logic behind a score report due date of the 31st when the last possible SAT date is Dec. 6th?

At Rice, the last test date accepted, December, is actually stated on its site: Rice University | Prospective Students

The logic, I assume (although assuming that there must be logic in a school's admission process is something one should never assume) is that they are basically allowing you until about the application deadline to even decide whether you will apply and thus send test scores, and then allowing enough time to assure they get it if you order in early January.

That does not mean you should not send the January test. If it happens to get there before your particular file is reviewed for admission, it may be considered.

As to any other colleges, you need to check, many take the Jan test, many do not.

concur with drusba. The Jan score report won't be available until mid-Feb by which time your file may have already been reviewed. But, if not, they might consider the extra test report.

btw: I checked with two colleges that had Dec test deadlines on their website, and both said Jan scores "might be considered."

I didn't think to look at the admission calendar
Thanks for your help
I'm just going to take the test again in Jan and hope that they accept it
