Hi College Confidential! I have a quick question.

So here's my situation, I have ALL A's (including many A+'s and 1 A- in AP Language :( ).

HOWEVER, in my freshman year, I received B's in both semesters of PE. This is because the teacher graded on how fast a student could run the mile, and I could not run at A standards (under 7:30) even though I'm quite athletic (4 year varsity tennis player). In my sophomore year, though, I received an A- first semester followed by an A (my teacher made us run MUCH further, but didn't grade us on time but rather on improvement).

So here are my questions:
1. My two B's made my unweighted GPA go down to 3.95; will colleges care?? Will the B's diminish my chances of acceptance? (while I may sound kind of crazy, I just need reassurance. Help a girl out!hahaha)

Will my A's in PE sophomore year make up for my B's freshman year?

Overall, should I just stop worrying? Or should I make up the classes and earn A's?

Imagine if #3 were true… and this conversation happened.

sally: Hi GC, I’d like to re-take my Freshman year PE courses.
Guidance Counselor: Why? You did fine.
sally: but I got 2 Bs and I need to have all As.

imagine all the energy your GC will need to expend JUST NOT TO ROLL HIS/HER EYES at you and suppress yelling out: “Grade whore! Get out of my office!”

LOL don’t worry. I get the pressure so many of you feel – common sense sometimes gets chase out of the room. Congrats on your achievements to date. Good luck w/your Sr. year. Don’t forget to have fun. That’s supposed to be part of the equation too!
