Will Colleges want me?

Hi, I’m a junior in high school and I’m a little worried about my college admission.
I want to focus on premed as undergraduate and then go to a med school and then be a pediatrcian.
However, I’m not sure a prestigious college will want me.

Here are some stats:
SAT: 1970 (700 CR ; 690 M; 590 R )
I will probably take it again since thats my first time.
Also, I take all honors/ AP classes except english
ACT : 29
GPA : 4.1

I volunteer at UPMC
This summer i’m going to india and volunteering at a non profit organization for homeless children and helping them there.
Also, I tutor young children.
I don’t do any after school clubs, because I dont have a ride after school
I sing and dance.
(i have performed for an indian organization in america several times)
I am on the tennis team too.

I want to apply to Duke, Johns Hopkins and Stanford. (reach)
NYU and the university of pittsburgh are a few more.

I am a first generation student in america.
I am not an american citizen but I have a green card.

So, are the chances good?

Those schools are all pretty selective and your SAT/ACT is on the lower end of most of their ranges. Make sure that you find some safeties that you would enjoy going to as much as those schools and make sure you do enough research to really find a school you’ll excell at! But your stats are very good, no doubt you will have plenty of options and schools to attend even if it isn’t those schools you’ve listed already.

You don’t need these schools to be admit into medical schools

Minimize your debt for undergrad. Pitt with a high merit scholarship should be a goal - work on your grades and test scores to earn it.

For the schools you mentioned, the seem like reach-high reach due to your stats being on their low end. Don’t be discouraged, though; you don’t have to go to these selective schools to be a pediatrician, and you’ll likely get the same level of education elsewhere!

I would work on getting your SAT at 2100+ or ACT 32+ to have a decent shot at the schools you desire, and work on ECs; if you want to do after school activities, is there someone in the club that can take you home? Is there a public transportation system you can take? I take the bus home from a lot of my ECs and it works out for the most part.

Like others have said, your ACT/SAT needs to be higher. Everything else seems to be decent, but more can be better.

thanks to all! I’ll take the sat again in jan and hopefully everything gets better
