During my freshman year I took really easy courses compared to other years (only because they were hardest courses available for freshman) and I got straight A's.
My sophomore year I took much harder courses and I no longer got straight A's...there was a definite drop in my GPA from a 4.0 unweighted to like a 3.7 something. I think I may have dropped .1 of a point weighted.
My junior year I continued to take hard courses. I experienced a very slight grade drop that year as well. However, it was only .01 for both weighted and unweighted GPAs.
I have rocked my senior year and I expect my GPA to go up, though my senior year is not factored into my current GPA.
Will this hurt my admissions chances?

No, it won’t.

No. The trend would only be a notable consideration beyond the GPA itself if you had taken similarly difficult classes and still had a downward trend. Since your GPA decrease was due to a course rigor increase, it’s not the kind of downward trend that’s a problem. A downward trend is bad when it’s a laziness trend.
