Will dropping AP physics hurt my chances of admission?

I am a senior in High school and I am taking the following classes right now:

AP Calculus (i will get an A in this for sure)
AP Physics (i will likely get a B in this)
Honors Spanish 4 (i will get an A in this for sure)
World Literature (will get most likely an A)

MY CURRENT WEIGHTED GPA IS A 3.96 AND MY ACT IS A 28

I absolutely hate my AP Physics class. I hate the homework I hate the class curriculum I hate the tests I hate the teacher somewhat and I also hate going to class. HOWEVER I have a 96% in the class as of now and I am doing well but this grade will end up dropping to a B in the end because my teacher used to allow test retakes and this is what would allow me to do well but now he has abolished this system and so I will do bad on the next 2 tests and the final exam. Assuming I get a B in the class and I drop the class at the end of first semester will this look bad? I also will replace this class with an ROP class which is a class designed to teach you work experience in a certain field (the one I chose is hotel management). If colleges ask me why I dropped AP physics I will tell them I did not like the class and that I want to have work experience and make room for that class by dropping AP physics. Will this cause a problem or I mean hurt or ruin my chances of getting admitted? I can not actually get a job because I receive social security money monthly and if I get a job that money is taken away so the only way for me to obtain work experience is through an ROP class.

WILL THIS HURT MY ADMISSION CHANCES SIGNIFICANTLY? Is this a good idea???

I applied to UC (University of California) schools and CalState schools.

I don’t know about significantly, but it may may an admissions worker confused. You aren’t doing bad in the class at all (maybe by your standards it is) and AP Physics is a rigorous course. To most people, a B is pretty good. The only time that dropping an AP class is advisable, in my opinion, is if you get a C, D or F and you’ve tried your hardest.
Schools accept applicants because they were impressed with the rigor the student is taking. If your rigor was to drop, they may take that as a case of senioritis.

Also, I don’t think not liking the class is a good enough reason for dropping. Does another teacher teach this same class? Maybe switch teachers? If not, there isn’t much you can do in the way of the class. There are going to be things in life that you hate or dislike and you just have to get through them. It may seem like the easy way out to just drop a class, but that doesn’t really work for problems in the real world. Second of all, I don’t think ROP classes count as work experience. If you receive a grade for it and not paychecks, it isn’t work experience.

Don’t assume you’ll get a B in the class either. I know he just took away re-tests but that just means you’ll have to study harder. It’s like you’re going home before the game is over. You have a 96 so you are capable of doing well on the final and next 2 exams.

Stick it out. It does not get any better in college.
