Will financial aid be enough to support someone who is dirt poor?

I come from a family that makes less than $10000 a year and has an EFC of 0. I was accepted for Summer B so I understand aid is limited during that term but I've been saving a bit just for tuition for this term. My family also has terrible credit. On the other hand, I submitted my fafsa for both 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 and I qualify for Florida Medallion bright futures scholarship. I've also done a few other scholarships as well. Is attending UF do-able under these circumstances?

I think I can provide some information on this issue. At that income level and a EFC you should be elibible for financial aid in the following categories:

Pell Grant $5500
FSEOG Grant ( For very low income) $500-$1000
Florida Assistance Grant (very low income) $1205-$1400
Federal Perkins Loan (this must be repaid)$2650-$2800
Federal Stafford Subsidized Loan- $3,500
Stafford Unsubsidized Loan $2000 ( May be capped or not allowed if Perkins Loan received)
Federal Work Study (campus job) This is not money advanced, it is paid as an employee of UF Maximum $3,000
Supplemental Grant $400
Bright Futures Medallion- About $2300
If you are forest in family to go to college and an URM you may be eligible for Florida Opportunity Scholaship (Full tuition)
It is really important to file FAFSA as soon as possible and call UF Financial Aid Tel 352-392-1275
Also you can get a waiver of the payment of the $200 enrollment deposit, ask financial aid dept.

Good Luck PM me if you have any questions

Wow, that is really helpful. Thanks a lot!

You are welcome. Be persistent with UF Financial Aid. Make sure they understand your entire family and financial situation. Also if you were on the free or reduced price meal program at your school tell UF financial aid that.
