My D's accepted as a freshman.
Family's EFC is $29635 so didn't get much aid.
But our income will decrease more than 30% next year.
Will NYU consider this and give more aid next year or they don't care?

Trojanpride, NYU does not guarantee to meet need. It also does not meet most people’s need fully most of the time. As a rule, your first year award is the best you are going to get, unless some catastrophe occurs that you can document and present to financial aid that results in an income decrease.

But the answer most of us can give you, is that we don’t know specifically what the school will do for you. I’ve known some kids who did get increases in aid, merit or financial in future years, But it’s rare.

Do call the financial aid office and ask specifically how this is usually handled, and tell them you need an direct answer like what the statistics are for those in such circumstance.
