Hey guys,

I thought it would be a wiser choice to discuss the situation with you guys before directly sending a message to my counselor.
I'm currently a sophomore.
I believe I'd either end up with a 3.82 cumulative GPA (if I'm really lucky) or a 3.75 cumulative GPA (if I stay like this) for Freshman+Sophomore years if I don't take action about this matter.
During my 2 years in High School, I've never gotten lower then a B+, except one time I took a summer course. This was when I was in 8th grade, ascending to 9th grade. It was a basic science summer course, but I totally bombed it with a B (I know it doesn't sound so bad right now but it makes my GPA much higher without the course). The course was extremely challenging, and my teacher was also extremely bias; she gave me a B at the end of the course when I should have received a B+ (participation grade).

Anyways, I was wondering if I should ask my counselor if I could retake this course or not. This course is like the basis of the other science courses at my school; People would have to take this course first to take advanced science courses (I'm taking one right now) later on in their High School life. If it wasn't a "stepping-stone" course, I wouldn't have been so anxious about asking my counselor. However, I'm scared he might say I would not be able to retake it because it totally disturbs the flow of the classes I've taken in my High School years. For example, right now the order of the courses I've taken is a-b-c, a being the problematic one. But if I retake this summer course, it would become b-c-a. Thus, I'm not sure if asking this question is worth a try. I know I could get an A now, since I have grown into a much diligent and hard-working student over the 2 years. If my counselor gives me the chance to retake it, I could probably raise my GPA from 3.75 to 3.83, a HUGE difference. Have any other CCers out there have experienced something like this? I need advice!

Thanks.
