Hey all, I'm new here. I want to apply to McGill's Engineering. I've tried emailing them but they never reply. Do you think I can get in with 3 A's in AS Cambridge physics, maths, biology, 2 B's in AS chemistry and english. 1 D in economics but I don't really care about that. SAT scores are 800 in subject tests: physics, math 2, and chemistry. Have not sat SAT 1's or done the full A level. Do you think I've got a chance or should I wait to finish the full A level. I really don't wanna be doing another year at my school.

Thanks

Oh and forgot to mention I’m from New Zealand so I don’t know if that means my chance of getting accepted is low. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

McGill’s admission policy is far more objective and grades based than US schools. There are very clear minimum grades that you must achieve, and if you are clear of those minimas, your chances of getting in are pretty high.

Minimum grades and testing requirements vary greatly from Faculty to faculty and are also based on which country you are applying from. Your SAT II scores are pretty good. A predicted A-level score of AAA or AAB should work for most faculties.

Take a look at this admission requirements table for the A-levels: http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/admissionsguide/standards/al

Thanks for the reply. For the predicted A-level scores, does that mean I have had to finish the full A-level? Because I’ve only done AS not A2.

Yes. you have to finish full A-levels to be eligible to apply.
