Hi, I am a senior currently and I truly want to go to NYU Stern for a music business major or maybe just a business major and a minor in music. I really just want to know your guys’ opinion on whether I can make it or not.
- 94 GPA, top 10% in class of 500 ish students
- 36 on ACT superscored
- 5 AP's including this year. (last year I got 5 on U.S. history and 4 on Language and Composition)
- 760 on physics SAT, math score is currently pending, and 720 on U.S History
- I have taken part in the wind ensemble (best performing group at my school) for all 4 years (saxophone)
- I have done jazz ensemble for 2 years and chorus for 3 years
- I have a band that has played at many events, including a telethon on fox news for the disabled (also have a youtube, check us out! Yellowhaze)
- Track and field indoor and outdoor since 10th grade
- Volunteered at St. Peter's hospital, Teresian House (nursing home), and various soup kitchens since 7th grade (all 50+ hours)
- Played AAU basketball until the 10th grade
- Played ESYO (regional jazz ensemble) for 1 year in the 9th grade
- Volunteered at church as altar boy and as a choir singer
My only concern is that on my transcript, I have a D for physics due to a huge misunderstanding in my junior year. I was wondering if I could still make it in despite this grade. I was hoping that by getting a high score on my physics SAT, I could prove that I’m not actually horrible at physics. I know I’m not stacked at all as a student so please just give me a straight answer, no sugarcoating. Also, if you believe that I could make it into another decent business school please let me know which school.
