So what exactly is AP stats?

You've been on CC for too long... Most college bound people are happy enough getting to Calculus by senior year. My school doesn't even offer AP Stats.

Some people told me it was more English than math...is this true?

I'd agree with that. Though it's not exactly English either, there's a lot of writing involved.

^ ew .

Just because there's writing involved doesn't mean it's anything at all like English...

in my school they offer a "higher" program for about 20 students
so my schedule is like

9th-alg 2 honors, geometry honors
10th-precalc honors
11th- ap calc ab
12th- ap calc bc, ap stats

11th- ap calc ab

Thats killing me. If one has a 99 average in precalc, shouldn't one be able to skip Calc AB? Seriously :(.

umm not because most calc ab concepts are not covered in pre-calc

ex: rotational volume, integrals, derivative, area between two curves, euler's, etc etc

That's not the reason for skipping. Calc BC covers the same topics as AB, in addition to a few other concepts, meaning that everything taken in AB will be repeated in BC, albeit at a faster pace. The 99 avg implies an incredible understanding of precalculus, showing that one would be able to handle the faster-paced curriculum of Calc BC.

Hey, Calc AB is hard. ;_;

Then again, my Calc teacher worked us so we just finished the AB curriculum and will spend the rest of the year doing constant AP tests to teach us how to take the test. It's brutal. I got 8/27 points on the last AP-graded quiz. I'm so dumb.

lol that maybe and i cant say for your school but in my school

i got straight a+'s in pre-calc(arguably the easiest math class in our school)

however calc ab is difficult..it is very hard to manage an a and calc bc is even harder

calc ab gives an excellent foundation for bc and i believe that it is a prerequisite so there is no way to really skip the class other than taking it during the summer....

and i understand your point aero and you are completely right

that is why almost everybody in my calc ab class is takin the calc bc ap exam instead of the ab exam

Even though AP Calc is a challenge, from what I've heard about Stat (that it's super easy and sort of a waste of time, but I haven't actually had the experience), I don't think you'll be missing out on anything.

stat is not waste of time...i like it! it's more of real world application/data rather than punching in numbers in the calculator and getting some other numbers that don't really mean anything (well, they do mean SOMETHING but...)
