Will I be rescinded at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign?

Hello,
Although I have not received my acceptance for UIUC yet, I am very confident that I will with 4.4 gpa and a 28 act and tons and tons of extracurriculars as an early graduating junior from high school. My first semester this year, I had many health issues that effected me. I myself was sick for 2 consecutive weeks, due to which I was unable to make up work in some classes, receiving a "0" for some tests and quizzed in Honors Precalculus AB and AP Physics 1. Also, my mom was taken to the ER during finals week, and I was the only one at home to take her. because of which I failed two of my finals and my grades in those classes dropped from solid B's to a C in physics and a D in math. I have been communicating with the office of undergraduate admissions about this, and they said that I do not need to send an explanation yet. However, I still did just to let them know of my situation beforehand.

My grades are as follows:

AP Physics I : C (79.89)
Honors Precalc: D
Digital Photography : A
Ancient Myths and Legends: A
Honors Spanish III : A
AP Lang : B+
AP US History : A

How likely am I to get rescinded even if I pull all these grades up next semester? Does anyone know how bad the slip would have to be to get revoked? Also, will colleges care if you email them a lot, for example does it make you look bad and hurt your chances at acceptance? One last question, I submitted a change of course form to take precalc at CLC in order to remedy this bad grade, but there was an error so I re-submitted the form. Will this be held against me?

Thank you for your advice

I forgot to mention that I applied as a Psychology Major.

I can’t say (I suspect that only UIUC can). However, the good news is that UIUC takes a lot of transfers from IL CC’s. So that would be a backup plan if you can keep your grades up in CC.

Pull them up as much as you can, I suspect you will be fine- especially with your circumstances.

No, do not contact admissions as you were not accepted yet and need not point out a red flag on your application. If accepted unless you have below a 2.0 your offer will not be rescinded. A fact.

Thank you to those who replied. I have already made the admissions office aware of my situation, and they replied to me saying that they are very understanding of health issues etc.

Do you think that my letting them know of my situation would hurt me in the process? I only tried to be honest and try to get some advice.

@aliyahsaiyed‌ no, letting them know of the situation is the right thing to do. You can get rescinded for a D (at some schools), however, if you contact admissions and explain your side, instead of just waiting til they see it at the end of the year, they will work with you.

Stop talking to admissions, immediately.

Get in first, then talk with them.

There is absolutely nothing good (for you) that could come from you talking to them before you are admitted. They are not going to conditionally assure you of anything.

No, I doubt it. Many people read applications and they are NOT allowed to take notes from phone calls. Due to an admissions scandal not to many years back the application process is an even playing board. So many applications and phone calls, no way is someone making a written note on your call.

NO NO NO, NEVER EVER talk to admissions BEFORE you acceptance. Again, they do not make written notes so do not stress out. They are used to kids and parents calling so you are not alone. VERY rare to rescind and offer, so don’t worry!!
