So, I got accepted to UF, I'm in IB, and for my first semester I got four Cs and two Bs as final grades. I know they weight classes an extra point if you're taking an IB or AP course, so those would be four 3s and 2 4s, correct?
The reasons why my grades dropped a tad is due to depression from the combined sources of my mom passing away in August, my girlfriend leaving me in September, and my low-income lifestyle that dominates my life (I made it evident in my essay that I was in the process of moving forward toward my college life and accepting my mother as a source of inspiration).
However, I currently have mostly As and a few Bs, but I keep hearing that the final semester grades don't matter. Is that true?
I've been stressing a ton lately due to all the IB IAs and papers and what not and I don't want to stress even more from this :/

I’m pretty sure I got some Cs my last semester (in IB). I stopped caring. I didn’t get rescinded. So long as you weren’t super borderline to get in, I can’t see it being an issue.

I wouldn’t stress about it. B’s and C’s wont get you rescinded. D’s and F’s will, but you aren’t getting those. To be perfectly honest, you can make a 2.0 for the semester and you’d be fine, as UF doesn’t report 2nd semester senior grades to things like USNWR rankings. Congrats on getting in, try to enjoy the rest of your senior year and try to look forward to your time at UF.

Thanks a lot for the reassurance guys :]
