Application rescinded

Hi guys. I just got into FSU for the Summer 2012 term. I'm a bit paranoid about my application being rescinded. I got almost straight Bs and 1 C in AP Macroeconomics. I got Bs in Honors Pre-calc, AP Psych, Digital Design II, TV Production (I received an A, not B), and AP English Lit. Please let me know if you think I'll be fine. I just hope this isn't considered a "downward trend." Thanks!

A “downward” trend should not be a major
problem as long as you pass ALL your
classes with a c or higher.
A D or lower in a core class will DEFINITELY
be an area of concern that may
lead into your application being rescinded.
If I may ask, why are your grades dropping ?

They’re only known to rescind applications if you get D’s or F’s on your final transcript.

Cs aren’t going to get you rescinded.

FSU looks specifically for Ds and Fs. Cs aren’t bad, or else I wouldn’t have gotten in the first place.

@bobbyf, hey what were your stats?

I will end up with a One D this semester. Will my acceptance be rescinded?

Quite possibly yes.

What class was it in? Have you contacted FSU about that?

@pasbal

It was in IB physics the rest of my grades i believe even with this D in this class I will have a 3.0 unweighted and a 3.9 weighted for this semester 1. I thought I would have 2 D’s, but I managed to being the other one up. Any opinions?

Is IB Physics an elective or a core class?

If it’s an elective, I’d lean towards you being fine. If it’s one of your core IB classes (Group 4?) then I’d say you’d probably get rescinded.

I picked IB physics as an elective at my school. We have 4 choices and I picked this class and I’ve had it since junior year, so it is an elective.

whats your major kyle

Literature or pre-med undecided right now but I have literature down on my app

Based off what I have seen, FSU absolutely loves IB students. That works to your advantage. Plus with it being an elective and not a core course, I think that helps a bit.

I’d say it’s 70/30 in favor of you NOT being rescinded. I would still contact FSU’s admissions office and talk to them about it. That also tends to help, as it shows you’re proactive.

Thank you for your input and opinion. I will be sure to contact them Tuesday.
