I am a junior this year and right now I am in Calc A at my school. It covers chapters 1-3 of AB. They started this class for advanced math students to take so they could skip AB and go right on to BC the following year. My middle school only offered up to Algebra, so I had to start in Geometry my freshman year and just finished Pre Calculus the first 2 trimesters of this year.I consider myself a strong math student. I have always gotten A’s and plan on majoring in mathematics education. However, I am concerned about taking BC because just Calc A in itself is difficult and a lot to learn. Just looking at my friends practice AB book for the AP test tomorrow made me feel lost because I did not know how to do much of it. Should I just take AB to be on the safe side and really master the topics covered in it or would I be bored and should just go on to BC? I don’t want to waste my time and I really want college credit. I am a hardworker and strong math student, but I just don’t know. Also, the teacher for this is lazy and doesn’t take it seriously enough.
