<p>Hi Im a new member of this site. I really want to get admitted into the following universities:</p>

<p>Please give me any advise you have!</p>
<p>Im a junior in high school with an unweighted GPA of about 3.80. I am in the 22% of my class. I know my rank is not that great, but I am hoping to raise it a bit more. (my class and high school in general is extremely competitive. In fact, they compete for mere decimal points). </p>
<p>I have been in a few pre-AP classes throughout high school. This is my first year of AP, although I am hoping to be in two AP classes next year rather than just one like this year. </p>
<p>I am currently a band officer (equipment quarter master) in band (I have been in band all of high school so far). I am in NHS, Key Club, and the Senior and Freshman program ( a selective program where Seniors mentor freshmen in need of help whether it pertains to problems at home or school). I am considering joining the rotary club at my school also. I am currently designing my own global charity projects over the summer. I have interviewed for the Camp RYLA program (linked to the rotary organization); I am still waiting for the results.</p>
<p>I have taken the SAT, but my score was not that great. My goal is about a 1950. I am also planning on taking the ACT (I figured taking both tests, would look really good for schools that only require one). I have also taken the Grande Con Cour (a national and optional french test that is offered to students. You can figure out how you ranked and submit the scores to colleges). </p>
<p>As far as "special circumstances" go, I am part African American and live is a single-parent home. </p>
