No one replied to my first thread so I’m getting a little nervous. I am a senior from MA. My gpa is a 4.3 and I got an 1890 on sats. I have played highschool and club soccer my entire life. I am captain of my soccer team and also run track. During the summer I am a ocean front lifeguard. I’m a coleader of my church youth group and we do many volunteer things like volunteering at church events and soup kitchens. I’m in national honor society. I’m a twin and also have two other sisters. I’m not a minority. I was wondering if I have a good chance of getting in OSU and how OSU is with grants. Thanks!

I think you should get in! My youngest D got in with similar stats and also received two academic scholarships. Her older sister graduate from Ohio State this past May.

I have recieved my acceptance letter last week, you should get yours soon!
My gpa is lower but my sat beats yours. You have a 99.99% chance of being accepted. No worries! Repost back when you got accepted!

Thanks! I’ll be sure to let you know

Hi Emily! I applied for Spring 2014 and received my acceptance email yesterday. My high school didn’t provide weighted GPA, so my UGPA was 3.9 and I got 1980 on my SATs. I had some extracurricular to back me up. I’m an international applicant so I haven’t received my acceptance package yet. I think you have a good chance too. All the best!

Wow everyone that replies makes me feel worse cause you guys are all so smart! haha but thanks! I hope you enjoy it when you transfer next semester :)

I think you will get in…We are also from MA, and our son is a freshman there now. I believe you qualify for the National Buckeye Scholarship for non-Ohio residents
Award amount
$12,000 ($48,000 fouryear value)

Criteria
Ohio State is committed to enrolling a diverse and talented student population. The National Buckeye Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to non-Ohio students required to pay the out-of-state surcharge who are admitted to the Columbus campus for autumn semester. Those considered rank in the top 40 percent of their graduating classes and have ACT composite scores of 28 or higher or combined SAT Critical Reading and Math scores of 1260 or higher.

Notes:
Except where noted, the National Buckeye Scholarship can be combined with any other merit scholarships, as long as the combined total does not exceed the total cost of an Ohio State education.
This award is renewable for a maximum of eight semesters (or the equivalent) of full-time undergraduate enrollment, provided the recipient maintains a 2.5 or higher GPA (earned by no later than the end of the first year) and is required to pay the out-of-state surcharge.

Our son received this, and it helped make the decision to go to OSU much easier! He is in the Honors program, and lives in one of the Honors Dorms. He loves OSU!!!

In my application I applied for that scholarship! The only problem I have is that I only have a 1250, off by ten points. Do you think there is any chance of them still giving me that scholarship or giving me some scholarship money? I also applied for the honors. Thank you for all your information and insight. I really appreciate it.

Not sure about that 10 points…so close…keep your fingers crossed . The honors classes are very challenging, and there’s lots of work/studying involved. The good thing about living in the Honors dorms is that everyone else is in the same boat…
Good luck!

Well thank you! I appreciate your replies.
