What Schools are really long shots and do I have a good shot at these schools? Thanks for all the help!

It would be helpful if you could add some details to your ECs. Based on what I see, you have a decent to very good chance on the majority of your schools here. Your schools that are reaches are Wash U, UCLA, Northwestern, Dartmouth, and Notre Dame. I personally feel that your chances into Wash U and Northwestern is extremely low and your chances into Dartmouth low. It is a shame your GPA isn’t higher or else my opinion would be different. Hopefully your GPA has increased throughout your high school career.

In my personal opinion a 3.6 GPA is usually right around the cutoff where most schools of Northwestern, Wash U, etc caliber would most likely dismiss you.

Where is your home state? What is your intended major?

Might add Holy Cross very good school 1 hour from Boston.Holy Cross offers some merit scholarships for students interested in Classics/Latin. HC is a smaller version of ND.

My home state is Maryland. I intend to go into college as an International Studies or Journalism major with a minor in Spanish. My senior year GPA is much better and will lift my GPA, and will put a solid uptrend on my GPA. Thanks for all the responses this is quite helpful and reassuring!

Can you afford OOS tuition at some of these schools? UCLA will run you $55K to $60K per year. Don’t apply to schools you can’t afford.

^ The same case for most OOS public schools. UMich is also $55k+ per year. For UMich LSA, your GPA is rather low while your SAT is right around the admission average. It would be a low reach to reach for you from OOS.
