I am hoping to be a civil engineer. Do you think I will have a chance at getting accepted?

I am currently a junior in high school.
I have an average of about 91
my sat score was 1760 (reading 550, math 590 and writing 620) I am taking them again in June and will hopefully increase my reading and math scores.
my GPA is around 3.5-3.7 i think
I am in National Honor Society
I have done multiple extracurricular activities (clubs, sports, volunteering...)
I am currently a girl scout and have been for about 8 years.
I haven't taken any AP classes but I have taken a lot of Honors classes. (I will be taking AP Psych next year and possibly AP Physics B)
My school doesn't rank.
I have taken 4 years of English, history and Math. 5 years of science. 3 years of Spanish
I also worked at a daycare in 9 th grade, at a summer camp last summer, and my local elementary school this year. I will hopefully be getting a job as a lifeguard this summer.

I’m a senior who’s gotten accepted – still trying to decide where to go – and wanted to do engineering there too (chemical or biomedical), but didn’t get in as an engineering major… I got in as my second option which was Chemistry. So yea, I don’t know if you’ll get in with your first option. I had similar SAT scores, a few extracurricular activities but not many and all very spread out through my 4 years of high school, 4.2 GPA, in the top 15 in my class (now 10), have taken 4 college classes and several AP’s, wrote a pretty decent essay, and I was in swimming and wrestling team.

So try to compare and see… I don’t think extracurriculars will affect much. If you raise your GPA, raise your SAT scores, and write a really good essay you’ll be fine.

BTW - haven’t you noticed nobody in RIT really writes anything on this site? I’ve been waiting for a reply on the chem program for a while and nobody has said ****. And you had like 86 views and no response lol

This is probably late to the point of having no utility, but I’m sure you’ll get in. Even if you don’t get civil engineering, you’re a shoo-in for any engineering tech program and it’s wicked easy to move laterally at RIT.
