Hey guys! I am an international applicant and I am hoping to attend BYU Idaho (fall semester 2011). I applied in late January 2011, so I should hear back by mid-March.
Please let me know if I can get in according to my stats below, thank you very much!

GPA: 3.1-3.2 unweighted (not too sure at the moment, but it’s within this range)
ACT: 21/36
SAT: 1040/1600, 1480/2400
TOEFL: 106/120

I also done ALOT of extracurricular activities. But let’s not focus on that right now.
I know I might not be the strongest candidate out there, but I still have hope!
What do you think? Do you think I’ll have a shot? What are my chances?

Thank you very much!

Their acceptance rate is 97%. You’re in.

hey guys. I’m really confused. What do you think of BYU Idaho and University of Mount Union??? I’m so confused between these two. Where should I go?? Thanks.

Jimbo 903,

Yes you will get in to BYU-Idaho. There is basically one simple requirement needed to go there: a pulse.

bipboam,

If you are deciding between the 2 take University of Mount Union. I have never heard of that school but chances are it’s gonna be better than byu-idaho. what byu idaho does to it’s applicants is once they are accepted they do EVERYTHING they can to get you to go there and KEEP you there, such as exaggerating about everything they have to offer to get the applicant to enroll. They even made up a new general ed program that no other schools can recognize as transfer credit in order to keep the new freshman there as long as possible. If you go to byu idaho you will be hit with an onslaught of unreasonable regulations because you will have to be in your apartment by 12 am. not to mention the cold weather

I will most likely be attending University of Mount Union this fall! It is a really nice school but it is rather small (2,500 students). It is $34,000 a year including room and board. They seem to be very generous with scholarships though. Mount Union does get cold in the winter but isn’t that unbearable. Also, I have heard that they rarely cancel school when there is a lot of snow since the campus is so small. Overall, Mount Union is a small and good school. Their football team is very good too. They are Div. III and almost always win.
