I’m currently a junior in high school with a 3.6 weighted GPA and I took a mock Sat and got a 1370(710 math 660 English). Thanks. I was also wondering if they have a better CS program or business program
@Meap433 I got accepted EA with a 1300 SAT (660 math, 640 evidence-based reading and writing). I have a 4.0 UW/4.2 W GPA. I think if you get strong grades this semester you should have a good shot at getting accepted.
@Meap433: Did you get accepted? My guess is that you did, with the high SAT scores offsetting your GPA, which is already fine. Did you know that their average freshman GPA is 3.7, but that’s a weighted GPA? They don’t state that, but it is. Their CS program is weak and super small—wouldn’t go there for CS. However, they are currently building a Science & Technology Building so they are growing.
As the director of their computer science program I’m certainly biased, but I wouldn’t characterize the program as either weak or small. We have over 200 students in our computational programs, and our students have gone on to work for Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, and pretty much every other highly desired employer. Our students also engage in research with faculty, publish papers, and go on to top-tier graduate programs. The new Center for Science and Technology is going to be amazing, but the fact of the matter is we already have excellent programs in the sciences and world-class faculty members teaching in them.

Sorry for the late response. I’m applying this year because I was a junior last year. I really like the campus but one of the drawbacks is that it is not as strong in CS as other Big research universities. If I get in I will certainly consider this school but I’m also concerned about the really heavy price tag.

And where did you go?
