I screwed up my high school grades. The ironic thing is that I never cut any classes, did all my HW, etc. and ended up with an 80 (2.6-ish GPA?) average, which is pretty sad because I know some people who would cut every other day and still get higher than me. I'll admit I was really lazy when it came to studying, which brought my test grades down and reflected on my transcript.

Anyways, I had a meeting with my college counselor back in June and she gave me a list of CUNYs and SUNYs I've never heard of, which kind of scares me. Worst case scenario is I end up in a community college I do NOT want to attend. I really would like to get accepted into Baruch because I'd like to commute from home since I live near the trains that could get me there without any hassle. I also plan in majoring in business (discovered my passion for it this summer), so I thought it would really be an ideal school for me. My SATs scores are really bad as well and I still got one more shot this upcoming October. I got a 1390 on my previous one. I was a shy and quiet bastard during my freshman/sophomore year and avoided teacher/adult contacts, when my grades were at around 85, which stopped me from taking any AP classes. I tried applying for some for my senior year, but I got rejected for all of them.

One thing I do have is extracirrular activities. I volunteer for the Youth American Red Cross, a local daycare/tutor center, and as a museum docent. I planned on looking in churches to add on to my volunteer list. I'm vowing to get a 90+ average this upcoming fall semester to provide a small boost in my transcript. Do I have any chance at all? Any advices when applying would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading.
