Hello, and thanks for opening my thread!
I’m a high school junior and am wondering what my chances of being accepted into GA Tech are. I have a 3.99 unweighted GPA and a 4.5 weighted GPA. I am in the STEM program at my school, so I’ve been able to take more science and math classes than most students at my school.
Scores on Various Tests:
ACT: 33
PSAT: 1490 (tenth grade)
SAT: 1500 (or something like that, 11th grade)
So far I’ve only taken 7 AP’s but will have taken the following upon graduation:
AP Human Geo
AP Psychology
AP Statistics
AP Biology
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus
AP Lang
AP Literature
AP Economics
Every other class was either advanced (honors) or STEM (a little bit better than honors at my school)
As for extracurriculars,
I’ve played women’s lacrosse for five years and have been on the varsity girls lacrosse team since 9th grade
I’ve run cross country at the varsity level since 10th grade
I am the boy’s lacrosse team statistician
Volunteering:
-assistant coach of a U11 boy’s lacrosse community team
-regular volunteer/donor at the Reece Center for Handicapped Horsemanship
-horse caretaker and trainer (on the weekends) at the Reece Center
-heavily involved in community service at my churches
-regular volunteer at my city’s community garden and food pantry
Clubs:
Science Olympiad
Science Club
Math Club
Math Team
Beta Club
National Honors Society
Writing Club
And extra things I should add:
-fluent in Polish (jesczce Polska nie zginela) and French, partially so in Hindi, Esperanto, and Toki Pona (I LOVE learning languages–almost as much as science hahah)
-member of the STEM program (extremely rigorous and competitive academic program at my school catering to about 25 students per year)
-member of MENSA (yup, I’m a nerd)
-accomplished horsewoman
-So far, I’ve managed to hold the Valedictorian position of my class
-I live IN Georgia, so just getting a scholarship (HOPE or Zell Miller) will be hard, but maybe y’all can help me determine if I should apply to Tech or not!!
-female and white, with the goal of becoming a doctor
-both parents are college grads
Thanks a ton!! I appreciate any input!!
