If these are "real" academic achievements, then you have a great shot at getting in.Most people on here come up with these ridiculous GPA figures just to see what people say.If what you have wrote is true then I think Rutgers Pharmacy would be proud to entertain your application.Good luck.By the way..an asian male entering the Pharmacy program at Rutgers...now thats a new one!( just kidding).

r u a pharmacy student? if so can u give me ur stats?

i'd say a decent match.

environmental science major with a minor in psychology. GPA 3.85.It was a 4.0,but I took organic chemistry, and got 4 A's and and C+,which subsequently lowered my GPA.

Is it really tough for international students to get into the program? I've taken 2 years of pre-pharmacy at Stony Brook University, and I'm going to apply to Rutgers and Buffalo for the next intake. Currently I have a gpa of 3.90/4.00. I don't have that many volunteer hours though, is that going to affect my application very much?

Please advise. Thanks!

well i heard they accept very few transfers they mostly take high schoolers like me

stony brook is a very respectable college.Your GPA( if that is what it really is) is outstanding.I think you have a better chance then the self proclaimed asian superstar from Michigan.I would definitely apply. When you come out of Rutgers Pharmacy school you'll be making over 100k in your mid 20's...nice incentive to apply..huh!Good Luck.

Our SATs are almost the same..but your ACT is great.
I'm instate but I say your classes and ACT make up for the fact you're out of state.
Pretty good chance of getting in.

why haven't you taken AP bio? Pharm lets you take credit for only one class (total of 8 credits) and getting out of bio here is one of the smarter choices imo.
I've taken calc 3 too and AP chem too. If you do get in, your freshman year will be a breeze :)

they don't have AP bio at our school but i took an eqquivalent course at the local college? by the way corduroy r u a first year student? if so tell me what it is like?

Oh, I just noticed :) Hopefully they'll take the credit for Bio I and Bio II.
Yep I'm a first year. Without bio, I'm having an easier time than other kids.
In Bio you have loads to memorize. The exams I heard are horrible and you have 3 hour lab either in the wee morning or late at night..
You don't have formal lab reports for chem as opposed to bio..
first sem's easy. You'll have time to hang out with people and there's a good amount of events. You can even get a job and have time for schoolwork and social life.
Good luck, and I hope you get in.

thank you corduroy. btw may i ask what ur GPa, class rank, and difficulty of classes were?
also, could you tell me about ur extracurriculars?

My school didn't rank but through a scholarship I figured out I was in the top 10%
My GPA was just slightly higher than yours, by like .0something.
My courseload was easier than yours. The only things similar are AP Chem, Calc 3 Honors, Bio.., AP Spanish. I avoided APing in English and History...you're overqualified based on your courseload
Most of my EC's volunteering/clubs/helping environment/tutoring..
National merit finalist, National honor society, AP scholar
I doubt they look at ECs much. My friend who was admitted to pharm in October had no ECs.

You should send only your ACT score ;) they really look at your grades too because I think my B's were holding them back but you have no problems there.

EC's dont matter that sucks. btw would u say u easily made it or u were borderline? also was the scholarship u mentioned from rutgers?

I'm sure they matter a bit, like they'd take some with EC's over someone with the same numbers, same school, but no EC's. My friend had an EC, taking care of her big family, which left her no time for other stuff.
I say I just made it. Waiting 3 months and 11 days for the decision certainly shows something as opposed to my Oct. friend with straight A's. I believe I was really close to being rejected. Also if you apply to 3 colleges within RU including pharm it's supposed to take longer to review you.
No the scholarship was for NJ students...sorry.

o which other schools did u apply to?

I also did the school of nursing nb and school of engineering.

you should get into engineering fairly easily. engineering at RU is possibly to easiest to get into (not degrading RU in anyway) nursing, ehh not sure about that.

interesting. btw, how many SAT subject test should i send. I took math level 2, chem, and physics

Well RU doesn't require any, but if you send them they shouldn't worsen your chance at admissions. just send your best ones. or send the ones that really relate to your potential major.
