Will I Get Into Texas Christian University

Hello, before I go on a tangent, I would like to thank you for reading and responding if you wish to do so. I am currently a Junior in High School at the top public school in Oregon. My GPA is a 3.61 and my ACT score is a 24. I was wondering if I could get into TCU. My Freshman year I did poorly and received a 3.2 GPA both semesters. After that, my Sophomore and Junior year I received GPA's of around a 3.8, therefore I have improved a lot. I take a fairly rigorous schedule. My extra curricular's include: 3 year varsity soccer, 2 year varsity track, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Presidential Volunteer Award, have been volunteering for down syndrome network oregon for 4 years and am now the manager of the youth program, employed as a soccer referee, etc. I believe my I am a fairly good candidate but i am worried that I will not be accepted into TCU. I have visited their campus and have a decent relationship with one of their admission directors. What are your thoughts? I believe that my GPA and my extra curricular activities can get me in but I am not sure about my ACT score. Thanks so much for your time and response!

Your application is great and TCU would be lucky to have you . As for your ACT, my friend got is with a 21act had no where near the gap or ECs you have. But retesting couldnt hurt, and you should at least try to raise it once just for safety.

TCU: Low match

@Catria. What do you mean by low match? Thanks

@primemoat thanks so much for the response!

You have a great chance of getting into TCU…

I think you are a great candidate for Texas Christian Academy. I think you’ll get accepted without a problem but you can always retake the ACT test for a better score. :)

Do you think TCU. Will give me a decent amount of scholarship? I will qualify for very little financial aid but I wonder how much merit aid/ scholarship I could get. I hear that TCU is known for giving out a lot of money to their students. @Catria @MeganNCP @primemoat

Thanks!!

I wouldn’t worry! Sounds like you have a great shot, but maybe bring your ACT up?
