I recently decided to apply to the Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. I live about 30 minutes out and for other reasons I can easily get there as a day student. I have two family friends who go there and I am applying as a 9th grader next year. If I don't get in or decide against going I have an above-average high school to go to. Anyway my SSAT was fair, but I don't study (for now) and I'm not a try-hard.
Verbal - 722 - 82%
Math - 785 - 94%
Reading - 728 - 95%
Overall - 2235 - 93%
I can take it again but I probably won't. My friend had a 2285 and got in. Anyway, I get okay grades, take Chinese and Spanish, I'm good with tech and programming, play three sports (soccer, basketball, and baseball), and I'm in the Technology Student Association and Student Council. Oh, and I take CP Geometry. My worst grade last year was a 95.4% and this year it is probably going to be around that. My grades last year were fair, I had averages last year of 98.2, 98.2, 98.8, and was in the Top 2/3 in 7th grade. This year I had a 98.2 and was tops in the school. I don't try very hard but I have been fine. Anyway, I like foreign languages, tech, history, sciences, geography, and math, and I am good at all of them (except geometry (95%)). Also I am pretty good at soccer and love sports. I am also good at communicating with others and public speaking. I do realize that the school doesn't care too much about all of this but whatever. Also I don't want it to sound like I am bragging, sorry if it did somehow. So are any of you applying to the Hill or the other Ten Schools? Do you think I have a chance? Any feedback is greatly appreciated and hopefully I can help you guys out too. And finally, this is my first post :)

No way to tell for sure. It seems that your a very well rounded student, but I have one question. What is your passion?

Well there is no way to tell for sure. Thanks for the complement sir. Anyway I don’t really know what my “passion” is. I love geography and have studied it since I was 6 or 7 but it is not something I want as a career. Maybe I should think about what my passion is. Wow, thanks.

I’m a student at Hill right now. I got in with grades like yours and a lower SSAT score, so you’re looking pretty good! Just keep your grades up. Also, the fact that you’re good at sports might help quite a bit.

Cool man. Pretty encouraging, and I’m glad to see someone on here that has something to do with the school.
