I'm applying for fall 2013. I'm an automatic admission student. I have a pretty high GPA. Lots of volunteering and community service and hard classes. I hear it's really hard to get in so

do I have a chance?

Is it really hard to get into the nursing major?

Pre-nursing, probably. If you’re talking the actual upper division nursing major, it’s a whole other story that you apply for when you’re a junior.

So I had a high GPA, and pretty decent SAT scores, at least 120 hrs of health related volunteer hours with no recommendations (cause I forgot), and two really good essays and got in. I wasn’t automatic admissions though missed it by about 1%. My pre-nursing class is just over 100 people, and I have no idea how many applied. If you don’t get in the first time, you can always transfer into the nursing program later.

The actual nursing major aka Upper Division, you apply why you’re J1 and there’s only 60 spots and 12 are reserved for automatic honors program acceptance so only 48 are free game. Then those 48 are based mainly upon GPA and then holistic review.

Nursing is competitive, but it’s not that hard to get into if you have the right stats, well pre-nursing at least.
