Will I get more than a Pell grant?

I'm applying for UCF as an in-state resident and am dependent on my mother who makes ~$14k a year and supports myself and my younger sister. From what I gathered it looks like a full Pell grant of $5700 is pretty much guaranteed, but is there anything more I could get from the government or even the school? If so, what are these grants names and round-about how much would I receive?

As far as assets go, my mom owns a ~$220k home and an average ~$8k car. How would this play in to financial aid?

FSEOG, see https://studentaid.ed.gov/types/grants-scholarships/fseog</a>
State scholarship, such as Florida Bright Futures see <a href=“Home - Florida Student Scholarship & Grant Programs”>Home - Florida Student Scholarship & Grant Programs;
School scholarships, see http://finaid.ucf.edu/scholarships/index.html</a></p>

^yeah, already know about bright futures and UCF’s scholarships. Just looking for strictly financial aid based on low income as I haven’t done much research into that portion of aid yet. Looks like FSEOG is the only other one right?

This page under types of aid>grants seems to have all the grants offered by gov. and school for UCF.

Do you qualify for Bright Futures?

Yep, looking like I’ll get max bright future’s, max Pell Grant, and maybe FSEOG. Already have Pre-paid tuition too. Hoping for Pegasus Gold or Provost scholarship. If I get Provost then I’ll basically be meeting full COA and if I get Pegasus Gold It’ll cover the basics, just not the transportation or personal expenses part of it. Fingers Crossed.

There are Florida state grants for low income. Check with the school to see if/how much you would get. I think they are $1000-2000. UCF has a lot of good scholarships (which you listed), and you may not need more than that. You can use Bright Futures to cover transportation, books, misc.

Guaranteed? The only thing guaranteed that you can get from the federal government is the PELL and the student Direct Loans, if your COA and need so dictates. Up to $3500 of the $5500 you can take as a freshman through Direct Loans can be subsidized if you have the need.

You may be eligible for the auto Zero EFC, so take a look at those requirements and see if you can qualify. It’s worth while doing because your assets will not count if you so qualify. Otherwise, 20% of whatever assets you have the day your file your FAFSA will go directly towards student EFC.

Appreciate the heads up about the assets and efc cptofhouse. I am indeed eligible for it so that’s a good catch.
