Will I get rejected for taking MATH 1 instead of MATH 2

So am planning on taking the MATH 1 subject test this DEC, however most schools require math 2. I have a poor memory of precalculus, which I did last year(taking a gap year). I know Stanford recommends MATH2 but am not confident I’ll pass. Should I work and revise MATH 2 or perfect MATH 1
(CS MAJOR…btw)

I have a friend that got accepted last year and took Math 1 and his score was in the top 600s, not even 700. However he didn’t plan to major in anything near math.

Since you’re planning to take it in december, I reccomend you go for math 2 though because it’ll simply looks better and you have more than enough time to study plus the curve is a lot nicer on that test than on math 1.

Good luck :)!

Recommend means required if you want to be accepted.

Is this the 3rd identical post. confusing, Strong math students don’t take Math 1.

Yeah, you shouldn’t apply as a cs major with math 1. If you have poor memory of precal, then I recommend you study. After all, being lazy isn’t going to get you into Stanford. Sorry if I’m being harsh, but that’s just the reality of it.

Not to hijack the thread, but some reason, I decided to take both Math 1 and Math 2 (after studying hard for 2) and got an 800 on both. What bothers me is that the portal says they’ve only received Math 1 (which is impossible since they were both on the same date).

^ same, but I sent four scores (math 2, chem, bio, ush) but they only received 2 of the 4

I sent four as well. Two from one date (Math 1 and Math 2) and two from another date (Literature and Physics). They seem to have received everything other than Math 2 (but the College Board website says they have sent those scores – twice). I am not worrying too much about it because I think their new portal may have had hiccups. As long as I have self-reported all scores and had them sent, I should ideally be fine regardless of what the system displays, and so should you.

Edit: Oops, double post. Wacky internet.
