One school I’m applying to… UMASS Amherst says that a recommendation is optional… Is it okay if i just add a page that is my rec, without an envelope or anything… Also am I supposed to staple my essay?? And lastly are you really supposed to have your s-s number on every single page of the app?

<p>i think you are fine. as long as you have a rec i think UMASS is happy enough. and if they have any major problems then they will call you</p>
<p>BTW unless you have like a 1500+ on your SAT its hard to get attention around here.</p>
<p>You don't really need a rec for Umass if you're a student with decent stats. (1200+ SAT, 3.0+ GPA).</p>
<p>I sent in a recommendation from my Band teacher and from a summer program I did along with my application to Georgetown, and I got in EA. so I'd say it can't hurt.</p>
