I’m most likely going to get a 3.2-3.6 GPA UW this semester. I’m taking all AP courses (this is my first time), and one nonacademic elective (guaranteed A). I got into Scripps ED, will I get rescinded for getting straight or nearly straight B’s?
What does the provisional admission contract state? Rule of thumb for most schools: No D’s or F’s or a major drop in GPA (below 3.0).
@Gumbymom The acceptance letter didn’t come with a contract regarding grades
Or get suspended or arrested. Colleges do not like to rescind, so it’s highly unlikely (and I have never seen a case) that you will be rescinded for B’s. Enjoy the rest of your time in HS.
@skieurope ok, thanks! That’s what I assumed. I don’t do anything bad at school, it’s just this past semester I’ve been swamped with apps and other things, so I couldn’t batten my grades down before finals. And I will relax. Thanks again!
You will definitely NOT be rescinded for B’s.
@marvin100 I have an 87 (basically) in physics right now. The final hasn’t gone in. If I get a C in the class, and that’s my only C, will I get rescinded for that?
Probably not, but I’d try to bring it up, just in case. Normally a single C isn’t enough, though.
What do you need at minimum to hold a B for Physics? Since you have an 87 right now, depending on how much the final is worth, you probably don’t need much to hold a B.
In the event you do end up with a C, I think it will hurt you only if your GPA goes down significantly. (It also depends on how you do in your other classes.)
@QuiteAverage90 The final is weighted A LOT, so I need a 68ish to keep a B?
@QuiteAverage90 Let’s just say, I had a lower grade in Calc, but I needed a ~44% to keep a B (which I did).
Wait I got a B in physics (I bombed multiple choice). If no surprises happen in my Econ class, I’m getting a 3.4 this semester. This won’t get me rescinded right?
that’s already been answered.
