So my second semester senior year just ended and I earned all A’s and B’s except for one D in Calculus. My calculus is not required by A-G requirements as it is a 4th year math course, 3 are required. I was wondering if anyone had any info on my chances of being rescinded due to one D in a non required class, my GPA is still above 3.0 with the D. Also I have informed Merced today and they have stated that the committee will look over it and that I may be rescinded. Just wondering if anyone can inform me on chances and if I’m stressing about nothing.
I would definetely worry, especially if you’re planning on going into a math-related major. Even if it isn’t required for credit or you aren’t going into a field related to it, it’s a common core and important to know. Just focus on pulling that grade up for now. Bringing that D up to a B could keep you in. Perhaps if you bring it up, it’ll prevent it from being rescinded and instead put you on academic probation.
The thing is that my academic year is over and I cant change the grade but everything else I have is up to par. I heard that as long as you report it and its only like one grade, as mine is, then you should be fine…was this wrong.
Only admissions can give you a definitive answer…
Lol I just saw this old post and remembered how stressed I was…everything ended up being fine I kept my admission and have had an amazing semester and a half so far lmao
