Will I get Rescinded?

Do you guys no of anybody that has gotten rescinded from UT? Because for my last semester of senior year, I'm probably going to end up with 3 As, 1 borderline A/B, and 2 borderline B/C's. Do you think 2 possible Cs in non-honors classes would get me rescinded?

No. You should honestly not worry about it. It really is fine. They would only take away your admission if you say failed multiple classes. Have a great senior year and Hook 'EM!!!

yay! I hope you are right

you are fine. Enjoy your last semester. Just don’t flunk out. You deserve to have some fun now.

I agree with socaldad42. We’ve told our son he’d better darned well make a lot of Bs this semester! He may even get a C. The funny thing is that he and his group of friends are so used to working hard that they can’t get out of that mindset. I cannot get them to go out to a movie together! I may have to kick him out of the house one Saturday. “Go, have fun!!”

Unless you fail to graduate, they will not rescind you. I got a D 2nd semester of senior year and didn’t hear anything from them. Did fine the first semester at UT.

theloneranger, is that true? because UT only saw my transcript from freshmen through junior year, none from senior year although they knew the classes i was supposed to be taking. my grades first semester weren’t that stellar (although not THAT much worse than they were junior year) and then my second semester i switched to a new high school so my classes are totally different and like two less AP classes. i’m nervous of being rescinded too… does anyone think that’s possible? should i call them to check?

dont get so worked up, unless your failing multiple classes i doubt they will do anything

Sort of on topic…if I start trafficking drugs across the Mexican border, will my offer of admission be rescinded?

TXhorn,
I think you could also sleep with Tiger Woods and not be rescinded. How is that for a liberal UT education?

Taking a less challenging courseload = good chance of rescind

Mathcountser, have you ever heard of anyone being rescinded from UT? When? Why?

Yes you will get rescinded because you got 1 C.

You might as well give up all your hopes and dreams and work at a fast food joint for the rest of your life because getting that C means you are utterly useless to society and that you are semi-■■■■■■■■.

…no Onthefly, you will not get rescinded

No, you will definitely not get rescinded. My friend got in as a summer admit (high school class of 2008) and she was 25%. Second semester of her senior year she dropped to top 50% and she was panicked and crying thinking UT would rescind her. Never happened.

When I said “good” chance of rescind I meant IF UT-Austin does look at transcripts and had over-applications, then it could happen. Since this is such a competitive application year and colleges anticipate a low rate of people who actually come because of the recession, you might find yourself with the college’s overenrollment problem. This could happen for even noncompetitive schools.
