<p>ok, im between a rock and a hard place as to whether i should attend UCLA or Berkeley. Right now, it seems that berkeley would be the better choice. however, like the typical teenager, i like to smoke, drink, and socialize occasionally. i intend to attend med school after college so i plan to take MCB with an emphasis on neuro (i also plan on taking the seminar "Drugs and the Brain, ha!) waht i want to know is if ill have time to do things i want like bike, maintain my fish tank, smoke, hang out, etc. you always hear that berkeley is such a die-hard study school, is it true?</p>
<p>If you like liquor and stuff, you can literally drown in it. And socialize? No better place than Berkeley, but remember to EXPLORE the entire campus, which can be a daunting task at first. Many students just go to classes, and never go to all the socializing places like Soda Hall on the extreme north side of campus or all the smaller group meetings. You'll realize how cool Berkeley.</p>
<p>Just last year I was faced with the decision, and I dont regret my decision to attend Cal one bit.</p>
<p>Just dont try to adapt for too long, but Berkeley's the right choice.</p>
<p>im sure ill have no problem adapting. it's just that im afraid that i will be studying all the time in order to keep up with other kids and maintain respectable grades. i know i will NEED a break and i want to know if it is doable. i want to be able to party on weekends and hang out occasionally on weekdays.</p>
<p>ive read that people at UCLA are better at balancing academics and leisure, i dont see why this wouldnt be the same at berkeley unless berkeley students are in fact study-holics.</p>

<p>i know what u r saying. I think as far as opportunities concerned, u can find them at any college. However, I, like u, am intending to go2 med school; now i'm just worried that in order to compete with the other pre-med ppl who don't go2 parties, I'll probably have to cut back on the Absolut. That's mine idea, but i'm since i also in ur situation, i 'm merely speculating here. And High 5 2 all the party animals</p>

<p>partying is great. marijuana is the best thing since sliced bread.</p>

<p>i dont really consider marijuana a drug :) tobacco isnt really considered a drug, is it? caffiene is a drug but im sure youve taken that!</p>
<p>yeah....just a few days to go...i live in LA and like it here, but i like Cal too.....and u can't beat the prestige factor</p>
