im a junior from florida and got a 227 on my psat. i have been doing alot of work for the sat and am doing well on practice tests. i plan to take it in january. florida's cutoff this year was 214 so ill definintly be a national merit semifinalist. If i get the scores i want in january 2006, will i have to take the sat again after i recieve notification of semifinalist status in fall of my senior year? or could i just send NMSC my 1/06 scores for the finalist application?

well i gotta go to an exam, looking forward to everyone's replies, thanks in advance

1/06 test administration will be fine.

If you are fine with your score after you take the SAT, then you should concentrate on taking some SAT Subject tests in May and/or June.

i thought it would be pretty ridiculous that i would have to take it again, but i was confused by the NMSC website. thanks for the advice about the subject tests, one of the reasons im trying to knock the SAT I out in jan. is so i can focus on te subject tests, but ill probly choke and have to take it again lol. anyways, thanks

It's not your fault; the NMSC website is just written really vaguely. If I remember correctly, the semifinalist packet they send in the fall is a little more clear.
