Will I need to provide proof of clubs for my UC application extra curricular activities?

I’ve been in the following clubs: Robotics, Circle K International, and MSA. I only have an actual ID/certificate for one club (Circle K International) because the other ones didn’t hand anything out. Is there a chance I will have to prove documentation for the clubs I have been in? I wrote about Robotics club a lot in my personal statement questions so I’m worried that they will ask for proof and I won’t have it.

Normally I would ask the president of the clubs but my campus is on Summer right now so the clubs are not currently going on and I will have to wait until September to ask if they can give me some certificate or ID to prove I’ve been a member.

Thanks!

You MAY need to provide documentation. I think they randomly pull apps to provide documentation of work/ ECs. Or maybe they ask people when it seem incredulous. When I applied, they asked for proof of the number of hours that I worked. I said I worked full time, and they asked for documentation. It could have been random, or maybe they asked because it seemed incredulous. In CCC, I typically carried 18-19 units and worked 40 hours/ week, plus I had 2-3 volunteer activities.

Will they ask for proof? Maybe.

Thanks. How did you provide proof of number of hours worked? Did you just give them something written by your boss along with their phone number or was it something else?

I had to send them copies of my time sheets for the past 12 months or so.

Some people will be asked to verify, either randomly selected or if there are concerns regarding honesty.

Just do your best to be truthful and it won’t be an issue. I never had a “certificate” for anything, but if I were asked to verify something I’d find an advisor or someone else who could corroborate it.

Again, just be as truthful as possible and it won’t be an issue.

The UCs randomly audit applicants and campuses can also query applicants on their own. However it is unlikely that they will contact anyone before the Fall. Even if they should, a simple letter that you will provide verification in Sept should suffice.
