I finished my University of Minnesota application recently and told my counselor to send them my transcript last week. Today is the deadline for all applications and required materials and my tracker says they still don't have my transcript. Am I doomed?? I think my counselor sent in on Thursday she may have even forgot and sent it on Friday. Im going to freaking kill her if she did. Anyway, am I still able to be reviewed for admission even if my transcript is a little late? Please help im freaking out here.

I’m sure there’s a fair amount of wiggle room. At this time of year, snail mail is slow, and once the materials arrive at the Admissions office, they need to be matched with your file. There can also be a time lag updating the tracker. Remember the Admissions office is dealing with thousands of applications all arriving at about the same time, each one in several different parts, and it’s quite a challenge to organize all this material. So don’t fret yet.

Most colleges have a little bit of a grace period for one missing item, particularly if it is not the fault of the student. I would be very assertive in making sure it does go in ASAP. You can make it a little easier by providing a stamped addressed envelope if it is being mailed.
