Will it Be least likely for me to get in California State University: Long Beach

if i'm not a resident of california?

Many people say that california universities are more interested in people who are residents of California. I am NOT a resident of california, so does that mean I will have little to no chance getting accepted in California State University: Long Beach.

No, as an OOS applicant, you do have a chance to get into a CSU. It will depend upon many factors:

  1. Are you full pay?? OOS students receive little to no financial aid from CSU’s, so you will be expected to pay around $30K/year.
  2. What are your Stats? CSULB is the 3rd most competitive CSU so you need to have a good GPA/SATor ACT score.
CSU’s are all about the numbers, so EC’s figure little into your acceptance.
3. CSU use a specific calculation for their GPA, see link: <a href=“GPA Calculator for the University of California – RogerHub”>http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/</a>
  4. They use an eligibility index to rank their applicants:
(CSU GPA x800 + (SAT M+CR) or (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT compx10). Aim for a EI of 4000+ for SAT or 1000+ for ACT to be competitive
