I've completed my Common Application essay and the Middlebury supplement, but I've hit a road block in the application process. Despite having finished the letter in time, my school counselor didn't submit the letter before heading off for break. Neither of my teacher's recommendations appear to uploaded either. Once I get back to school, it'll be easy for me to get the forms in, but school doesn't resume until January 3rd. This year's application deadline is January 1st, and I'm incredibly concerned that my counselor and teachers' inconsistencies will be counted against me, especially because Middlebury notes on their website "for reasons of equity and fairness toward all applicants, please know that our application deadlines are firm." Will it be counted against me if I turn my school forms in late, or will everything be okay as long as I turn my part of the application in on time?

I dont think it will be a problem if you email Middlebury explaining your situation!

My deadline was Nov 15 (i think) and the notification date was Dec 17, and I only realized that my ED agreement wasnt submitted on Dec 9th. I ended up submitting it around Dec 11 with an apology and clarification email, and I still got accepted.

Hope that helped!
Good luck (:

I agree. If your stuff is in, the committee isn’t meeting Jan 1, so just get it in soon as possible and send a note of apology.

Not at all. I have a friend at Midd who submitted her materials a month late.

Thanks so much for the responses! I emailed the admissions office and they said if I had my school forms in on the 3rd, I’d be fine. This is still slightly concerning as that’s the day I get back from school. I can easily get my transcript and completed counselor letter faxed on over, but I have no idea as to where my teacher recs are at, completion wise. If I have all school forms in before the 15th, will I still be okay. The rest of my applications are due that day, so obviously my school forms will be completed by then…
