Past the deadline?

I mailed my Midd Graded essay and supplemental essay today... I dropped in in a postal box. I didn't go to a post office or anything, I just put it in a stamped envelope and dropped it in. Will they see that it was mailed on January 2nd? (No service on January 1st) Does it matter? I feel sort of stupid for not having done this earlier, but I don't see an adcom looking at my app and saying "oh, it was postmarked on January 2nd. Point against him".

Am I being paranoid?

no service on the second either.... I'm honestly not sure what they'll do with it, but it's not really a good thing...

I'm a big procrastinator so I can relate, but they set the deadline a long time ago

Deadline was the 1st..., I got the preapp in on time (the 15th), and I sent the common app in on time, and I dropped everything I had to mail by the first, but I guess it doesn't ship until later.

Mm, you can't do anything about it now. Chances are it's ok if the supplimentary stuff trickles in, as long as it's before they begin to review your app!

call to make sure they have it.

yeah...I mean they'll be looking at ED applicants first, and it still takes them a couple of weeks to just get everything organized

I think you're just being paranoid, seriously.

I really think they do the deadlines so they make sure that they will actually have time to review it.

I think you're ok.

(I applied to Middlebury also :))

I didn't have that problem for Middlebury, but I had it for 2 other schools. I called them and they both said that it would be fine (they were both supplementals) as long as I had my common app in.

Great, thanks man.
