Hi guys,

I've been accepted to UNC-Chapel Hill OOS...i have 3 AP exams all lined up for next week (Physics B, Govt, Latin Vergil) I feel kinda confident about Govt + Latin...but not Physics...

It really sucks b/c i'm a math/science person and i am 100% full speed ahead for medical school...but after a year of family responsibility (grandma had cancer...had to take care of her) and then severe illness due to exhaustion of just trying to handle school and family responsibility...i havent been able to efficiently learn topics in all of my classes this year...

It isnt much of a problem for Govt + Latin as all i have to do is just read...but Physics...i just cant understand the math + formulas all in one weekend to study and study for Govt as both tests are one day after another

My mom and counselor suggested that i take all 3 but just cancel the Physics...

i requested to not send all my scores to UNC but since they know my senior courses will they decide to take back my acceptance?

Did you tell UNC you were going to take the AP Physics exam?

I highly doubt that you'll lose your admission. For all the college knows, you were sick or had some other emergency that caused you to cancel the test score.

I also think that colleges care about AP test results for placement in courses, not to determine whether admitted students should lose their admissions.

Thanks so far for the feedback..

Drew...actually my mom and counselor suggested this today so i havent had time to talk to UNC...and all they know is that i am in AP Physics but our school doesnt bother to specify whether we're expected to take the test b/c all of us have to...unless in my instance, u can't for a good reason..

it is a good idea tho to notify them tho right?

I don't see why you should notify them, I didn't notify my school that I wasn't going to be taking the AP Bio exam. I don't see why a school would care whether you took the AP exam or not.

I don't think that UNC cares about your AP scores except for placement purposes. In fact, it might be to your benefit to take the darned exam in case you unexpectedly do well on it, which may give your access to some different courses. I don't think that you have anything to lose by taking it, but you also could check with UNC first, just in case.
