Hi guys,
I’ve just been accepted off of the waitlist for Microbiology at SLO. After reading the conditions of admission, I’m worried my acceptance will be taken back. It says I have to maintain my previous GPA, how strict are they on that? When I applied, I had around a 3.4 GPA and right now, my GPA is at a 3.25.

My grades have been:
Civics/Economics: A/B
Yearbook: A/A/A/_
AP Art History: B/C
AP Statistics: C/C/C/_
World Literature: B/_
Physics: C/_

The empty spaces are for this final quarters grades I haven’t received. I’m not taking any off rolls. My overall GPA for my senior year is a 3.25. Will they care that my GPA has gone down? How in danger am I of losing my acceptance?

Thanks in advance!

I recall two years ago the admissions department told me that your overall GPA cannot fall more than .5. So if you had a 3.4 overall GPA when you applied, your overall GPA (not just for this year, but your overall GPA including your GPA) cannot be lower than 3.1. Additionally, you should not get any Ds, especially in the classes that are desired by Cal Poly.

Correction, your overall GPA cannot fall below a 2.9 not a 3.1, which would be .5 below the 3.4 that you were accepted with. But things may have changed from 2 years ago. Call the admissions office if you are worried about it.

You’re fine. There is absolutely no way you will be rescinded with a 3.25.

When I called about a month ago, they said that it was .4, so I don’t know if it has been changed.
